Description
Underarm waxing is hair removal using melted wax, which is applied to the skin and removed along with the hair. It is an effective method for long-term hair removal, usually for 3–4 weeks.
Underarm waxing involves the following steps:
1. Skin preparation:
* The underarm skin is cleansed with a disinfectant solution.
* If necessary, powder is applied to remove excess moisture and facilitate the waxing.
2. Wax application:
* The wax is heated to the desired temperature and applied to the skin in the direction of hair growth.
* A spatula or special roller is used for application.
3. Wax removal:
* After hardening, the wax is removed with a sharp, jerking motion against the direction of hair growth.
* When using hot wax, do not use strips; the wax is removed manually.
4. Finishing care:
* Remove any wax residue with a special oil or a cloth.
* Treat the skin with antiseptic and soothing agents.
Important information:
* Hair length: The optimal hair length for waxing is approximately 5 mm.
* Sensations: The treatment may be temporarily painful, especially during the first hair removal session.
* Frequency: Waxing is recommended every 3–4 weeks, but this depends on individual hair growth.
* Preparation: Shower before treatment. You can use a scrub to soften the skin. However, avoid using creams and antiperspirants.
* After treatment: Avoid using alcohol-based products, sauna visits, and exercise for 24 hours after hair removal.
* Contraindications: Contraindications include moles, open wounds, wax allergies, and infectious diseases.
Benefits of underarm waxing:
Long-lasting, smooth results, hair removal including the hair follicles, less painful over time.
