Therefore, a broad-spectrum sunscreen that effectively protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays, as well as infrared radiation, is essential. ENVIRON has developed a highly innovative sunscreen that offers radical protection against all relevant types of radiation, yet is purely mineral and does not require chemical filters: RAD SHIELD Mineral Sunscreen with SPF 15.

 

RAD SHIELD is the perfect sunscreen for those who prefer pure mineral sun protection and love a light, moisturizing texture. 

ENVIRON's sun protection philosophy is based on RAD: "R(eflect) - A(bsorb) - (D)efend" - reflecting harmful UV rays from the skin, absorbing UV rays that can penetrate the skin and defending against harmful free radicals.

 RAD SHIELD contains, among other active ingredients, the physical UV filters titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. These act as broad-spectrum filters, ensuring that light is reflected and scattered without reaching the skin. A high dosage of protective antioxidants prevents damage caused by free radicals, which is caused by daily environmental stress and UV exposure. ENVIRON combines as many different antioxidants as possible; the combination of vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene is particularly effective.

Nanotechnology against the stripe effect. 

To prevent the unsightly "streaked" effect, ENVIRON has used nanotechnology for the first time in the new RAD SHIELD. This technology breaks the minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide into microscopically small particles (nanoparticles), making them transparent. There's a good reason why ENVIRON is only now using this technology: Relevant studies confirm that nanoparticles of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide do not penetrate further than the outermost layer of healthy skin and are therefore harmless. The Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) of the EU Commission has also deemed zinc and titanium dioxide in nanoform safe.
